Recently I returned from a business trip to Ghana. The trip was an opportunity to explore new business ventures with prospective new client’s while nurturing the relationships we have with our current Ghanaian client base.
The trip was an overall success as one of the downfalls of being based in the UK is missing out on face-to-face interaction with the teams I work with every day. By visiting clients in country personally, I was able to get a clearer understanding of where are with each of our clients.
This face-to-face interaction was key to highlighting areas of improvement but also in communicating the diversity of the product range and services that Storm provides - some of which they were unaware and keen to explore. Alongside this, it provided an opportunity to really get to know the buying teams who I can say are some of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to meet.
It was warming to see how happy many of our clients are with the services that Storm provides them.
The trip also provided the opportunity to communicate with prospective new clients who although in some cases were focused on local sourcing, still had a need for international supply. Positively we are already seeing the fruits of these meetings forming.
Overall it was a positive trip and I look forwarding to my next opportunity to visit again.
